One of our researches focuses on developing and using AI techniques for improving the effectiveness of online support for suicide prevention. Examples of challenges include in-depth analysis of online chats, topic modeling, identification of combinations of factors that suggest high risk for suicide, and tipping point analysis. A second research uses AI techniques and capacity models for improving the quality of the acute elderly care in the Netherlands. Here we use AI methods to gain understanding in the complex system behavior, and use these insights to develop models to improve the waiting-time performance of the system.
